Should I buy this 2006 audi a4 2.0t cvt?
Hey guys,
I'm a newbie here and i've been doing some research on this forum and its amazing how much yo can learn but i can only learn so much with the amount of time i have to buy a car before september. Anyways, I know everyone is saying go quattro but its just too expensive right now and plus there's not that many in the market right now in toronto. My option right now is this audi or a 2006 altima sl.
I went to go take a look at this car today at bay auto zone
bayautozoneltd.autotrader.ca/used-inventory/vehicle-details.htm?vehicleId=3a885d107f000001008fc7a7713a 4e77
The car is in mint condition in terms of the exterior and interior, they said its 100% accident free coming of an audi lease and the driver of the car was a woman. car proof report will be provided. The car has about 88,000k which is okay and 3 yr p-t warranty,
He's asking 17,888, and im seriously want to throw an offer at this guy but I'm a newbie, so i need some help before I do. So i have a few questions..pls bare with me.lol
What should i be looking out for with this car?
Has anyone had any experiences with the dearlership?
Should i get the car inspected by audi?
What other question should I ask?
What offer should I start with?
lastly, Would you buy this car? lol
thanks guys.

1.For me and Audi's- the first thing you want to get is a WARRANTY!! Audi's are amazing cars. But things do go wrong and they are very costly to fix. If you’re going to by used, you NEED a warranty. That is why I personally felt more comfortable buying this type of vehicle straight from an Audi Dealer.
2.Never had any experience with that dealership
3.YES
4.Make sure get the car fax and get all records of that vehicle from Audi Canada
5.For a CVT with that many kms, I would personally go no higher than 15k
6.Sorry to say, but no. I would say that 4/5 people buy Audi’s because of Quattro! There’s nothing like it. I understand that Quattro may be out of the budget right now. I suggest holding off until you can get what you really want. If you’re going to do something, do it right!
Hope that helps

I would stay away from the CVT and go with the Altima, if this is your only choices. Honestly CVT= headaches and big ones too. I have a friend who is a head mechanic at a dealership and he told me because I was looking at the CVT to stay away from it, because he has not had one without a major issue. I would go FWD but no CVT if you cant afford it, there is a guy selling a 2006 in missusagua for $22k and its a quattro which is a pretty good deal. I would honestly either buy an older quattro and spend less or wait longer and buy a quattro and spend the 18k, CVT i would avoid completely and buy the altima.

i would have to agree with 1move. As much as I want to steer you away from audi, the FWD and CVT tranny are terible. I had one for the last 3 weeks when my car was in the shop. It hesitates, reves high, feels like it slips, and the tires spin pretty easily. If you are willing to spend some time and find a quattro you will be extremly happy!!!

ya seems like I have to wait....I was just hoping on getting one before school. The altima is a great car also but I can't see myself in anything but an Audi, then again with my budget I hope I can find one. Originally my budget was 15,000.
This forum is amazing, so much u can learn on this forum. So what are the normal prices ranges for quattro a4's?

for a 2006 auto, you should be able to get a quattro for the same price as what hes asking.
2 years ago i got my 04 A4 6speed quattro for 16000 with only 50k on it. Unfortunatly i our cars do not carry a very high resale value.

hey 1move was your mechanic friend from audi?
anyways, the search is going to even longer now since the altima i was interested was just recently sold. arrgghhh!! but that audi with 3 year power train warranty is still available and with school coming out..its very tempting lol but I know everyone is telling me to stay away from the cvt.
