Default Should I buy 2006 A4 Quattor?

greetings people

This is my first post in this forum. I currently own a 2007 Camry SE, I'm in my early 30's and think that I should have waited 20 years before buying this camry...so...

My leasing lady in toronto called me about a 2006 Audi A4 Quattro turbo charged with NAV system and the whole works...it currently has 65000 KM on it, but has an extended warranty to 120,000 KM

My questions for you are:

I have been crazy to drive a Camry in my early 30's, should I make this switch?
Does this particular model have any issues I should be aware of?
Is the cost of gas/repairs absolutely insane for Audi?
Anything in general I should know?

I know we are comparing apples and oranges but I have always seen myself in an audi and am absolutely blown away by the sexy factor!

All thoughts welcome...cheers....

I personally would make the jump in a heartbeat. Yes, maintenance will probably be more than on the Camry, but not by a huge amount. Other than regular maintenance I would suggest just finding a reputable independent mechanic in your area and that will greatly reduce maintenance expenses if you actually come into any trouble. Other than that, you are just getting a much more luxurious car with the added benefit of Quattro awd. Makes year round driving a breeze. Gas mileage will most likely go down some due to the awd, but I don't think it would be a huge difference. Depending on how many miles you drive in a year you have alot of warranty left on that car so there shouldn't be anything to worry about!

I have had my '03 A4 for about 2 years now and it has been nothing but good to me. Other than the first week of ownership when a pile of things went wrong (which was just covered under warranty, luckily), the car has cost me nothing except for fuel, insurance, and regular maintenance and as of tomorrow one oxygen sensor.

I'll second Espritman99's comments. I had 2 A4's and loved them. I had no real problems with either one. The 2.0T is a great engine, and with that extended warranty you can't go wrong, IMO.

Is it a s-line model cause the tires are 235 40R18 and it cost a lot to change it ?
For a brake replacement on my 2006 it costs me 500$ only for the pads.

The fuel economy is good. On highway, I can make 7.0l/100 kmh at 130 km/h. In city it turns arround 10.5 -11l/100km.

I had no major problem except with my xenon blinking and the dealer didn't fix it yet. My leasing is finishing in 3 weeks and the car will be return with this unresolved problem.

Choosing Audi is a really good choice. You will enjoy it. If you want take a look of my image (the grey one is the 2006 and the leasing is ending februray 25th)

Rickyboy: you got jipped so bad im laughing so hard. brake pads come in pairs and each aftermarket oem pads at avg 25 bucks.

s-line models are no differnet than regular ones, cept bigger rims, sporty suspension and some extra electronic devices.

justaddlove: what engine type is it? 2.0 or 3.2? its a big leep from a fwd camry to an awd a4. and trust me, you wont regret having it. only problem you need to worry about is the price and how well the previous owner took care of it. You must check and see if the owner did regular maintainence on the car and have it been into an accident or w/e, just to be safe than sorry. I've seen tons of guys just do visual checks and give a go.. week or month later.. engine problems. make sure to have an updated report on how the car was treated.

extended warranty: dotn let this fool you.. because I got jipped due to this. what this does is if u got any problems at the engine bay area.. audi will take a look and check it but before they do u got to "pay" 100 dollars deductible just to get it into the repair place to hoist it up. then they charge u for an arm and a leg and say " thank you and come again so we take your other half". anything not near the engine bay area for example: brake rotors, pads, brake lines, draftshaft, transfer case, rear differentials.. etc.. they wont "warranty" it.

plus side out of all this crap is better value when u sell it.

If you can afford the money to pay for the switch, undoubtedly you will have more satisfaction with an A4 if thats what you are looking for.

I've had mine for under a week and have zero regrets. I know I made the right call.
I got mine fully inspected and it has the full maintenance records which gives you a good peace of mind.
