Replacing Bi-xenons with aftermarket

Replacing Bi-xenons with aftermarket
Hey, I have the OEM bi-xenon headlights, with autoleveling. I was wondering if it is possible to swap out the headlight assemblies and replace with an after market headlight and HID kit. I don't care if I keep the autoleveling, just wondering if it is possible.

Re: Replacing Bi-xenons with aftermarket
I have replaced the bulbs with aftermarkets, way cheaper than oem Audi.... The dealer wanted to replace both headlights and modules for around $2500... To correct the notorious "dipped headlight" problem. $69.00 for two bulbs on eBay and I've been fine for two years now. Not sure if that helps with your question or not... Personally I wouldn't mess with the set up that's in there.

Re: Replacing Bi-xenons with aftermarket
You can, but I believe its a real pain since you're probably going from a 12 to a 10 pin connector, which means a new harness to make the after market headlight assembly's work...but if you're mechanically inclined, I say go for it.
I will say though I prefer the look of the OEM housing over most aftermarket ones..but I have also seen some real nice after market ones, its your car, do what you like.
If you decide to do it, I'll take your OEM housing setup off your hands

Re: Replacing Bi-xenons with aftermarket
Thanks for the tips. I think I'm still going to replace the whole setup. I'm looking for an OEM look but with the led strips. Vusum I must inform you my OEM setup is suffering from the notorious dipped headlight. I'm leaning towards lltek's led black housing. Does anyone have any experiance with them?
