Maintenance questions stealership prices?
Has anyone here opted to go though the stealership for repairs/ changing parts in regards to:
The cam follower
Pcv valve
N80 valve
I've been browsing various forums and these are the parts I see people mainly changing. I have 97k kms or about 53k miles. And this is approx +/- the mileage I've seen these parts brig changed
I don't know if these are parts I would like to attempt with a detailed DIY or bit the bullet and let the dealership do it for me, curious on prices for part repairs in the Toronto area. Thanks

Re: Maintenance questions stealership prices?
There's been a warranty extension on the PCV for the 2008 year and I think there was a warranty extension for the cam follower for the 2005.5-2007 years. Best to get put a call into Audi Canada with your VIN and find out exactly what applies for your vehicle. My wagon is due for it's next dealer service in March, 2012 and I'm going to ask them to just replace the cam follower anyway and pay the hours worth of labour. If it does show as being worn, then I'll try to persuade Audi to absorb the cost as my vehicle is only just outside the 4yr factory warranty and low kms to boot.

I don't know if it will make a difference or give me trouble but my car was originally from the states and I got it here at a second hand dealership

Don't know - need to check with Audi. Their position might be that you need to work through a US dealer then but the standard factory 4yr warranty allows warranty work to be done by any authorized North American dealer, so an Audi warranty extension should follow the same process.
Good luck...

Re: Maintenance questions stealership prices?
Less then an hour, I bought mine at the dealer as my car was running like wood and spitting codes out so it cost me a $140 taxes in for valve and gasket but it can be had cheaper...
Gasket $42.99 http:///products/503-pcv-valve-gasket.aspx
Valve $52.99 http:///products/502-pcv-valve.aspx
That place is located in Canada so prices are CDN$ and shipping shouldnt be an issue, can also check ECS tuning, I would call this place ahead just to make sure the PCV is the latest revison, which I believe is 'P'..
