How to turn on Day time running lights?

I have a 08 a4 with halogen lights. How do I set up to make DRL's come on? What do I need to buy to program?

Do you have the little DRL switch to the side of the headlight switch? Thought B7 US vehicles always had that. If not, you'll need to get someone in the Boston area with VCDS/VAG-COM to recode the central electronics module (#09). There is an explicit setting for halogen with DRL.

Nope there is no DRL switch under the headlight switch. I thought so too. If I buy a vag- com myself, is it hard to recode the electronics module?

Re: How to turn on Day time running lights?

Trivial to change the coding; easiest with the actual Ross-Tech cable (click here Ross-Tech: Home ). It is relatively expensive but pays for itself because it works with no extra hassles for configuration etc and Ross-Tech prvides full support. I have one of those and have found it great for my cars and helping others. There are much much cheaper options on eBay but other threads highlight the hassles folks have had trying to get those to work.

Good luck...
