Help !!! 2006 A4 B7 2.0T jammed a/c compressor bypassed.
Hello Everyone,
On my way back from Florida to Toronto my a/c compressor clutch fell apart on my 2006 A4 B7 2.0T .. the accessory (serpentine) belt came of leaving me with no alternator nor power steering.
It just happened on Saturday night and I was lucky enough to be in a small town and not in the mountains
After researching the forums I was able to buy a 45" shorter belt to replace a 62" one and to bypass the a/c compressor.
I wanted to use Dayco 450K6 6 groove belt but autozone only had a 450K5 5 groove belt which I was able to put on from under the car and make home safe.
Apparently the belts for 1.8T B6 and 2.0T B7 are the same .. original length and for a/c bypass (delete) length as well.
I need help now ... Should I replace the whole a/c compressor or I can get away by replacing a/c clutch only? Is it even possible for this compressor?
Thanks a bunch.

Hi
when you replaced with new shorter belt, did you have to remove any pulleys or was it a straightforward Fitment minus the ac unit?
i know it’s an old post but I hope you reply as I am in the same situation.
