Faulty Readings on Fuel Guage

Faulty Readings on Fuel Guage
My 06 A4 S-Line has developed faulty readings on the fuel guage. Anyone else encountered the same. When full, it reads only 1/2. When under 1/2 it was reading almost full. Ideas?

Re: Faulty Readings on Fuel Guage
I had the exact same problem repaired on my 06 A4 at a dealer earlier today. They diagnosed the issue as a faulty gauge and replaced the entire instrument cluster under warranty. Be warned - they had to order the part in and it took nearly 3 weeks to arrive. Also, when you get a new gauge cluster, your keys have to be re-programmed to the car - so bring all of your keys with you to the dealer. The radio will also be set into safe mode, so make sure you have the unlock code handy.
I have no idea what this would have cost if it hadn't been under warranty.

Took mine to the dealer for the same issue. When full, it reads only 7/8ths. they apparently replaced the sending unit. it was good for a day. now its the same again.
I'm not under warranty now, so I wont bother fixing it.

UPDATE
Despite having my gauge cluster replaced, my fuel gauge still doesn't read properly. The dealer is going to be replacing the units (yes there are two) in the fuel tank that send a signal to the gauge next week. I'll let you know if it solves the problem and what it would cost if not under warranty.

Re: Faulty Readings on Fuel Guage
I had the same problem when I picked up my pre-owned.
They replaced both units and re calibrated with a full tank of gas. It's fine now.
I would recommend going in the dealer with a full tank of gas. At least that's what I did. They told me they topped it up a bit (under $10 worth of fuel) which they didn't charge me for so that the new "full" reading would be correct.

Re: Faulty Readings on Fuel Guage
I had mine done a few months ago and it's been good ever since, knock on wood.
