Engine sputtering, engine light...thoughts?

Engine sputtering, engine light...thoughts?
Well, damn.
I have a Malfunction Indicator Light and a bit of engine sputter and some vibration through the car when idle and at low speeds. Sounds like the infamous B6 ignition coils issue. I've made an appointment at Mark Motors in Ottawa to get it checked out on Wednesday...when I called, they said that I had the coils replaced during my 70,000 servicing but it took them a while to find the documentation, which I find kinda sketchy. The serviceperson initially said they didn't replace them, then she said..."oh yeah they did, the technician just entered the wrong code in their computer system." Hmmm....
06 A4 2.0T Quattro, 78,000 km on it, just looking for other causes if you guys have any idea.
Thoughts?

- I don't have a vag com
- Car was running fine, then I put in $60 worth of Petro Can superclean 91 octane gas in it, problem started afterwards. I still have the receipt...definitely 91 octane. First time using Petro Can...
- It's been 3 days since light activated while driving, car still starts, just a lot of vibration in the seat
- Haven't driven it since the light went on 3 days ago, should I "drive it out" and see if the problem corrects itself? Bit freaked out to drive it right now...don't wanna make the issue worse.

Re: Engine sputtering, engine light...thoughts?
Here are my thoughts:
I highly doubt its the gas. Good decision to stop driving it. If its coil problems and and you are not getting a spark or ignition in the cylinder then the unspent fuel may cause engine damage and problems.
I don't know if its the coils or something else but for sure find someone in Ottawa with a VAG-COM and buy them a beer to diagnose your codes.
Keep us informed as to the results as it may benefit others along the way sometime.

Re: Engine sputtering, engine light...thoughts?
Thanks Mike - I'll let you all know what the verdict is after they look at it tomorrow. I'm just worried that I screwed myself on my warranty by getting my car serviced at 71,000 km as opposed to 70,000.

Re: Engine sputtering, engine light...thoughts?
So, got a call back from Virginia at Mark Motors (who is awesome btw).
My timing belt tensioners are damaged.
Intake valves are damaged.
Injectors are damaged.
They're gonna have to keep the car for two days - they need to remove the whole front end.
Thank GOD I chose to buy that certified pre-owned warranty.
