Coolant Leak/Missing Cap?

Coolant Leak/Missing Cap?
I just purchased a used 2007 A4- S Line 3.2L from a used dealership in Toronto, and while driving home, noticed some smoke coming from underneath my hood. I pulled over to open the hood and inspect the engine, and noticed a reddish-pink oil (presumably coolant) all over the engine. Upon closer inspection, at the very front of the engine, I noticed a small circular tube with the same colour liquid bubbling.
Does anyone know if there should be a cap or tube attached here? Is it possible that during the Audi inspection, someone missed reattaching a part?

Re: Coolant Leak/Missing Cap?
I actually just figured it out, it was the coolant temperature sensor that had popped out of this spot. Whoever serviced the engine coolant system did not replace the bracing clip back on the sensor causing it to pop out from pressure build-up. I found the sensor dangling a bit farther down from this pipe upon further inspection.
I appreciate your response.
Thanks

I completely agree. If it weren't for the fact that I have been searching around for a while to grab an A4 in this exact configuration I would have done so.

Either way, it's good that you were able to solve your problem. I would bring it up to the sales manager at your dealership though, just so you have some future leverage when negotiating servicing costs.

I already did and they were very apologetic. Hopefully like you said I will be able to use this to my advantage in the future.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Coolant Leak/Missing Cap?
enjoy the 3.2, it's a great engine if you maintain it regularly, worst thing so far for me (and only thing engine related) was all the screws on the harmonic balancer nearly coming out a few weeks back, no one knows why, but it's been fixed..... the engine has plenty of pick up as I'm sure you know!~
enjoy!

Re: Coolant Leak/Missing Cap?
The V6 engine is simply a thing of beauty. I have test driven the 2.0T and just found that it took too long for the turbo to provide a boost. Whereas with the 3.2, power is always readily available, at pretty much every RPM. Plus when I heard that engine/exhaust sound, it was pretty much a no-brainer.
