Default Cam follower warranty

Hi has anyone gone to their dealer for the cam follower warranty issue?
I'm in the Ottawa area.

Marks Motors - I have mine in the shop getting the cam replaced + a little more I think because theyve had my car for a week! All covered for TSB but you do have to initially pay for the diag, but theyll refund it

How long after you called Mark Motors to make an appointment did you bring your car in? Hunt Club or Montreal Rd.? Also, you'll be refunded when the work is done? Wow, one week at the dealer, guess they must be busy. I will have to make an appointment too for this warranty issue. Hope everything works out for you.

I use both / Montreal Rd tends to have more appts where as merivale is a bigger service center but usually takes a week or 2 weeks to get appt/ my car needs a new cylinder head so it will be in there for a while im also getting some other work done.

How I think the warranty TSB's work is you have to pay for the original diag or atleast sign off on hours if nothing is wrong with the follower then you pay if something is wrong they send an email to audi canada and get the work approved to replace the part.

My friends dealer had to buy two extra engine hoists because they remove so many of these engines. Basically all they do all day is drop 2.0T motors and fix them. I have not heard of anyone in Canada though getting the cam problem fixed outside of the original warranty. I hope this is changing. My car has 129,000 KM's on it however the previous owner replaced the follower as a precaution.

What should I be paying to have them look at my cam follower and replace. I booked an appointment to have the cam follower changed, but I was quoted $400 parts and labour. From what I have been reading that seems quite high.

That is robbery! That would be paying the shop $340 labour for 1/2 hr as the part is only 60 bucks. I DIY'ed this job in 30 min and was my first one. 107K and it was time for replacement.

Last year during a HPDE, the cam follower failed. The camshaft, fuel pump, and follower was replaced under warranty. Appartently it is covered for 192000km. I don't recall having to pay for anthing.

I have a '07 A4, out of manufacture warranty at the time. Agincourt had the car back to me in a couple of days.

How did they justify the work to be covered under the extended warranty? Was there a hole on you cam follower, did you get any CEL or error codes?

I know that when I got my timing belt done ahead of schedule they threw in the cam follower recall for free, which is pretty sweet as it includes a new fuel pump.
