The problem with a CAI, is that if you run it too low (say near the bumper) for cold air, it increases the chances of hydro locking your engine if you run through some deep puddles. Keep it high up in the engine compartment with a proper heat shield (so you're getting cold air) and you should be fine. Winter should not be an issue.

My first question is simply, Why? The stock Air box is very good, unless you are hitting above 350HP there is no reason to upgrade it, it is a big waste of money and you will not see any potential gains from it until you get into the higher HP range.

Exactly as 1move says. There is no real gain for the money.
Unless you're doing it for the sound. I would just save the money.
Or do what we 1.8 guys do. Drop a k&n panel filter in the air box and call it a day.

If i do get the CAI. Is there any modifications I have to do to install the part...and if you think CAI is a waste...Should I just get a Short Ram Intake instead..

They are both a waste of money. i would invest into a new DV, and a chip before touching anything else. A new intake will run you upwards of $400 where chipping the car will be $700 and you gain 40+HP. Just to get a bit more sound out of it? What good is sound when the guy leaves you behind, It is only a magnet to attract cops IMO, and in the case of an Audi a waste of money. A good new DV can run you from $100-$200 and it will be a better option IMO if you are going to chip the car.
