Brake Pads & Rotors...help me decide!
Hello
Will be replacing my 05 B6 1.8T Quattro Brakes & Pads
Need basic OEM replacement for everyday/normal driving...
I am overwhelmed by the selection and models for each part :
Rear Pads:
2005 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8 L4 - Brake Pad Set Rear - BUY 2005 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8 L4 - Brake Pad Set Rear
Front Pads:

I know that When it comes time for me to do the same I am def going for the Hawk ceramic pads. Have seen others with them and dramatic reduction in brake dust which drives me crazy. Haven't decided in rotors but am leaning towards something light weight instead of OEM.

Links and website do not seem to be working at the moment
I will choose then the ceramic pads as I have read many threads here and on other forums recommending ceramic pads for better performance, much decreased brake dust and especially avoid squeaking!
For rotors I am open for anyone recommendations...if I recall correctly the front ones are cross drilled and the back one plain. Some members tried Zimmerman that do not seem to be great...

It looks like audi knew they blew it on the B6 with the brakes, and that's why they improved the brakes so much on the B7 cars. The stock B7 brakes are better matched for the weight of the car(s) than the B6 A4 brakes are for sure but then again for daily driving....eh I do not care that much!
For pads you are 100% correct with Hawk HPS pads.
They offer the same noise levels and retain wear sensors, but will have much less dust and a better level or performance!
Those particular Ceramic pads are extremely good with preventing brake sequel, they dont wear as quick, they produce less brake dust, and they dissipate heat better to prevent warping of rotors.
For rotors the concensus seems to be:
ATE slotted rotors
No need for drilled...and I wouldn't worry about the dust difference between slotted and plain faced rotors. The benefits of slotted out weigh the pit falls. Slotted keep the pads fresh and clean. They also help displace water on the rotor surface when the pads are applied in rainy conditions.
Let's see if other members have some input as well as I will update this thread as I continue my search lol

I see Canadian Tire sells ATE slotted rotors, has anyone fitted the ATE ceramic pads? If so how do you like them? See any change in performance?
It doesn't take long before my alloys are black from brake dust and it's really annoying. This has got to be my worst vehicle ever for brake dust. I think once we're out of winter and the winter rims come off I'll be changing the pads and rotors at the same time.

the 3.0 has bigger discs and calipers. just make sure you get them for a 1.8 and not just a b6.

Thanks...yes I am aware of that as I am still doing my search on many forums and will update my findings on this thread.
Some members who have the 1.8T swicth for the beafier 3.0 rotors/brakes, even some go for the S4 version.
The Hawks HPS pads are highly regarded even thouhj they seem to be quite pricey as I checked ebay....no one should never compromise on tires/rotors and especially pads
