Great advice from all of you, especially you Windaddict.
I can see that the salesperson is hungry for this sale, but I can also tell that he knows that I really want this car which is bad...
I did manage to re-negotiate an offer of $1000 off, this including the winter tires installed. I had sent him an email a few days ago about the vehicle and he said that he cant go lower than $27 500 ($500 off). Today he called me while I was at work but I did not answer right away. I called him back a few hours later and did not mention his email or call. I told him that I needed to see the car-proof and he paused for about 2 seconds. I knew something was fishy so I told him to prepare the report and that I would be picking it up later after work. So basically, the car is from Ontario, its a lease return like he had mentioned. But...... it had been in a accident ''collision'' with another car when the car was at about 20k km, repairs of about $2000 area affected was ''front center''. He couldn't give me further information about the accident, and in the car-proof there's not that much more explained. He then said in a confident way; '' is the deal still good? Are we set ? So when do you want it delivered? ''. I told him, not sure about all this anymore, I have to read through this and think about it and I might give you a call with my final offer considering all this.
But honestly, the car looks clean and runs smooth, but I'm not liking the price, especially since it has been in an accident and that it has 89k km. My final offer is $25k. I've been looking at their inventory everyday since September and I could say that only about 3 to 6max cars have been marked sold til now. If he don't like the offer than too bad!

With all that being said, how much would you guys offer for this car (if you wanted to buy it)?

You could argue this either way. It doesn't take much to cause $2000 of damage to an audi, so I wouldn't be super concerned about that. I got rear ended by a guy who was slowly rolling forward at a light and it caused $1800 damage to my car. There was basically a scuff on my bumper and a couple broken brackets.
I don't know much about how the audi dealers work out in the Ontario/Quebec area, but it seems a little odd that a car would be leased in Ontario and then returned, then wholesaled out to Quebec. I suppose this could be explained by the owner moving.
I might be paranoid, but personally, I'd like to understand why a lease return isn't being resold by the original selling dealer.
After taking a very brief look at the cars in my city, I think you'd be doing well to get the car for anything under $27K with a warranty and winter tires.

The damage must have been very minor if the cost of repairs was only $2K. There will be details of the damage and repair costs in the carproof report, so make sure you see the report to confirm it was a minor accident. If that's the case, it would not stop me from buying the car, but it does de-value the car a little, probably about $500 in my opinion. Even if the repair is undetectable, it will always be on the Carproof report and affect the future sale and value for the car.

But the first thing you need to decide is how important buying a CPO car and getting low finance rates, is to you. If you don't care about the CPO and you're prepared to finance a car through a bank at higher rates, then I'd only look at private sales, since you'll get a much better price. If you want to take advantage of the low Audi finance rates and CPO warranty, then you're stuck with buying from an Audi dealer and paying more for the car. As I said in an earlier post, I think you would do very well to buy this car for $27,500-28,000 including the CPO warranty and new tires. I don't think you have much hope in them agreeing to $25K with, or without, the warranty. I do think you can find the same car privately, if you're patient, for $25K or less

After you've decided on CPO warranty and financing, you need to decide how important the Titanium package is to you. These cars are less common than the standard S-Line packages, but to me are not worth much of a premium. But if this package is really what you want , you'll likely have to pay a little more. I would take an 08 S-Line with lower mileage and the same price over the car you're looking at.

If I really wanted the car you are looking at, I'd be willing to pay $27500 with the CPO warranty and financing, or $25,500 without it. Worst they can do is say no, and you can always go back in a week with a higher offer if you choose...I doubt the car is going anywhere at that price.

I don't think CPO is worth it... I mean I'm pretty sure nothing is going to happen to the car in the first 2 years or whatever. The only thing that's good about it is the 2.9%. I like the titanium pkg though, its different. I could wait it out, but like you said, they're rare...
I'm just going wait til April/May then see if I could get it for cheaper or just shop somewhere else.

Well, that is a bit of a gamble. An Audi out of warranty can be expensive to fix, especially at the dealer. If not getting a CPO warranty I would get a good independent PPI done. The PPI can also be used to see if there is any damage from the accident that wasn't fixed properly, but as others said for $2K it was probably minor.

The difference in interest rate will pay for the CPO warranty, even though the price of the car goes up the payment is probably similar.

Cosmo Kramer, your saying that its worth it for $2200?
Im not sure but I heard that most of the problems or common problems aren't even covered in the cpo warranty, is that true?

I definitely agree if you are buying a used A4 from a dealer. Look at it this way: If you buy a $28000 car and finance it through Audi at 2.9% for 4 years, you'll pay about $1800 in interest over the 4 years. If you buy the same car for $26000 without the cpo warranty and finance it at a bank over 4 years at 5.9% (rate might even be higher), you'll pay about $3500 in interest over the term of the loan. So you save about $1700 in interest if you buy cpo,.... more if it's financed over a longer term. You should easily be able to negotiate the cost of the cpo warranty down to $1800 ( which is dealer cost), so in reality it only only costs about $100 when you factor in the savings in interest.

So like Cosmo Kramer says, your payment will be essentially the same, AND you will have the peace of mind of having the warranty. No, the warranty does not cover all items and it has a $100 deductible, but it will likely cover most major repairs and could save you cash in the end. It's also a nice selling feature at re-sale time.

I just picked up an 09 A4 in the Montreal area and went with the cpo warranty and financing...really was a no-brainer for me!

Thanks, you explained it well. Tell me more about your purchase, which dealer did you go to? Did you negotiate price on the car and/or cpo? Did you ask for a deal/ extra stuff?

Bought it from Automobiles Niquet for a very fair price and I went for the cpo warranty and low finance rate. It's a base model with sport package, auto, quattro that will be driven primarily by my wife. 2 sets of tires and 2 sets of mats were included. The biggest issue we had when we picked up the car was the language barrier,...not much English spoken there, but it worked out in the end
