Re: all season tires
Go to tirerack.com, enter your car details, and look at the list of available tires that comes up. In most cases, there will be a link to a comparison test and/or real-world feedback from people who have bought the tire in the past.

I don't know about the price range but I just bought my tires from PitStopTIre in Calgary. Highland industrial area of SE Calgary. IMO the personalized service is worth whatever the extra costs are.

Did my research first at the user survey charts at the TireRack Customer Tire Survey.

What I liked best about them is that there is no waiting for service. You make an appt with them and they are ready when you drive up. I first came across them when I needed someone to switch my tires from summer to winter. I had mounted winter tires and they only charges $20 to change the tires over. They were done in less than 30 min!
They very helpful in my search for new replacement tires.
Based on the research and charts, I bought the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity tires over the Pirelli P6's they were going to put on at the dealership.
I paid about $550 extra but I think they will last and perform a lot better. So far they are quieter and feel great handling.

I would agree with checking out Tirerack.com; especially with the strength of the Cdn $. You can save a lot this way. Even if you decide to buy them locally, Tirerack will give you very good imformation to help select the tires which best meet your needs.
