A4 "Ignition Coils"

Re: A4 "Ignition Coils"
I had the coil packs changes but this didn't resolve my problem. Turns out there was a TSB for the crank speed sensor that was messing with the transmission electronics. The TSB states that a spacer for the sensor must be removed if this problem occurs.

Re: A4 "Ignition Coils"
I just had all my ignition coils replaced last week. Didn't hear about the recall till reading this thread.
Not sure if its my coils misfiring, but today when I hit 5th gear my car started to shake (not as bad as when my coils first went but noticeable). It doesn't happen in any lower gears, but have seen a horrible change in my mileage recently as well. Anyone have any ideas?
On another note, my mechanic told me that when he replaced the ignition coils he put 1.8T coils in instead of 3.0. He said they were exactly the same just black, not red? At first I was unsure, but after driving it for a week it seemed fine. Now I'm not so sure. What is the difference between the 1.8T and 3.0 coils?

Re: A4 "Ignition Coils"
Hello everyone !!
I am new to this forum. I recently purchased an A4 - 1.8T Cabriolet in April 2008. It was purchased from the USA and I imported it to Canada. It is a beautiful car but since I got it, I have had the car towed twice now to an Audi Dealership in BC because of the ignition coils..... It is a 2006 car.... Has anyone experienced issues as I have>?? If so, why is this happening? They will only replace one coil at a time and now I have a fear of the other 2 coils dieing on me one day!!! Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanx.
