I had the coil packs changes but this didn't resolve my problem. Turns out there was a TSB for the crank speed sensor that was messing with the transmission electronics. The TSB states that a spacer for the sensor must be removed if this problem occurs.

What the hell is with these things? Is Bosch still the OE manufacturer?

I just had all my ignition coils replaced last week. Didn't hear about the recall till reading this thread.

Not sure if its my coils misfiring, but today when I hit 5th gear my car started to shake (not as bad as when my coils first went but noticeable). It doesn't happen in any lower gears, but have seen a horrible change in my mileage recently as well. Anyone have any ideas?

On another note, my mechanic told me that when he replaced the ignition coils he put 1.8T coils in instead of 3.0. He said they were exactly the same just black, not red? At first I was unsure, but after driving it for a week it seemed fine. Now I'm not so sure. What is the difference between the 1.8T and 3.0 coils?

Has anyone experienced issues as I have>?? If so, why is this happening? They will only replace one coil at a time and now I have a fear of the other 2 coils dieing on me one day!!! Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanx.
i would call Audi and ask them about the recall. It may or may not apply to your car.
if it does , you can get it done for free. Also they will reimburse you for the paid costs of previous repairs.

good luck
