Where to get oil filter?
I picked up an oil filter for my 2007 2.0T the other day from my local stealership and it cost $20. Knowing this is a rip, I was wondering if you guys had any better sources for oil filters than direct from the dealer. I'd even consider buying 4 or 5 in bulk if it meant a lower price overall.
Or do I simply have to suck it up continue getting ripped off by the dealer? |
Re: Where to get oil filter?
I buy them online, you save a little bit but still about $10-15 per filter, this place is located in canada and free shipping on orders over $75

Canadian Tire, Fram Extra Guard CH9911. A German Mahle/Mann filter in an orange box for $12.49. Get the German Castrol Syntec 0w30 when it goes on sale and you are set!

Re: Where to get oil filter?
I saw that Canadian Tire had the part number listed, but I haven't been able to find one in any local stores.
Maybe I can get them to order some in. |
Re: Where to get oil filter?
I just buy mine from the dealer. Yes, I too pay $20 but since I do it myself I'm already ahead of the game.
But if you're really that intent on saving money you can purchase them in a case of 10 for about $10/each plus shipping from German Car Parts Canada. |

I ended up going to the dealer and bought an oem one for $6 more, Autopartsway.ca sells the Mann ones for $13.49 but to make the shipping make sense you have to order it with other parts. |
