Yeah A4Avanti... I don't know what adamstasiak is smoking but the B5 V6 is nothing next to a B7 2.0T. Even Audi's own numbers show the 1997-2001 B5 V6 only doing 190hp and 207ft-lbs of torque and that was their strongest motor during the entire B5 run.

The 2.0T in the B7 dead stock produces more power and has quicker AUDI PUBLISHED(!!) 0-60 times. Maybe he was following a 2.0L City Jetta up the mountain?

Also A4Avanti - I'm not surprised you haven't had any issues with your turbo in almost 200,000km... I am a little surprised your CVT is still going strong though! Good job! Stage 1 in that thing should make it a fun peel-out machine.

With the CVT iam a little surprised myself but even though i do some spirited driving once in a while ( iam only 20 years old haha!!) i do take care of my car, problems come up, i fix it. I hope my tranny will hold out a little bit longer yet. have been looking around for a replacement. So far its been very good though!

I had a 3.0 V6.. and now have a 2.0T. The V6 for sure sounds better at higher RPM when the hammer is down the floor it was explosive.. but is nowhere near as fun, as the 2.0T.

From my experience, the torque on the 2.0T is way way way way more linear than the 3.0 (ie at lower RPM, much more power).. its response seems way faster... speedwise, seems about the same.. but way lower gas bill...

LOL! wow... i'm left without words on how to comment on this...

well im at stage 2+ and have np leaving a v6 behind on a hill or not. going above the max speed listed is not suggest and at 240km that you have listed would be considered illegal and street racing resulting in your car being taking by the police. real racing is done on a track in a controlled and safe environment. that way both car are launching from a stopped position to really see who would win. no real racer starts a race from a rolling start!

I raced turbos and the go quite well up to 160 km/hr but than they deflate and at 180 km/hr they are at their limits when my V6 keeps going and going and going up to 240 km/hr smooth and easy.

You said that you do not press to the bottom so you should be ok wit that.

So I understand that biggest thing to keep an eye for on the 2.0T is the cam follower for the high pressure fuel pump...so I have a few questions along this line:

1. Do all turbos come with a high pressure fuel pump?
2. If no, how do I know what type of fuel pump the car has?
3. If car comes with regular fuel pump, is the cam follower still an issue?

Thx

1. All FSI engines come with a high pressure fuel pump, nothing to do with the turbo.
2. B7's are all FSI so... you're going to have a high pressure fuel system.
3. The cam follower is only an issue in the 2.0T from the B7 era. The 3.2 seems unaffected by the issue and the newer 2.0Ts don't seem to have the problem either (so I've heard anyway). I believe they changed the cam design.
