My son in law is in the navy right now and currently in Bahrain. He's left me in charge of his 2005 A4 1.8 turbo cabriolet. Found out the transmission is completely shot (not rebuildable) and will costs $5,500 to put a different one in. I don't know much about audi's and wondered if anyone could tell me if it was worth repairing. He's a good kid and a great son in law- but terrible with autos!! Please help.
