sun roof issue.

Hello all. I have an issue with ny sunroof. I just got it back from being repaired. The sunroof does not tilt anymore, nor does it open when i turn the dial, it tries to move back then stops. for me to open the roof I have hold the tilt button to close then the sunroof sinks and begins to open but only about 20%. Please note the dial is still in the closed position. Now when I open the dial, it opens fully, all the way back past the point which you must manually open it further. When I turn the dial to closed it closes about 80% of the way and I have to use the tilt controls to get it to fully close. If anyone knows what the problem is or could be please share your knowledge. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the limit sensors or the switch itself may be messed, Have you tried a little silcone spray on the runners and around the seal? Maybe there's too much stiction as well.

Either way if it's just been repaired, shouldn't the 'repairer' take responsibility for a faulty repair?

He said he installed it and reset everything and that's how it works maybe it needs to be reprogrammed. I was just just looking for a touch of insight I am planning on taking it back just wanted some detail. Thanks I will check what you have posted above

Not the sensors at all, all new installations need to be reprogrammed.

Re: sun roof issue.

So after repetitively trying to reset the motor my pondering mind took hold of me and I decided to try something. I pulled out the sunroof motor and decided to play around by plug and playing while adjusting. I finally adjusted it where it works close to original or what we remember of it and I reassembled it and she's been great. Took it through a car wash and she didn't leak. So jobs done thanks guys e
