I'm looking at buying a 06-08 A6. I absolutely need a GPS (I'm a sales rep doing cold calls). Regarding the OEM GPS, if the GPS is active and the radio is playing, does the GPS mute the radio everytime it barks out an instruction? I currently have a 2004 A4 with an aftermarket Garmin, and when the GPS is active and I only want to watch the screen for directions while a good tune is playing, I just crank the volume up and I wont hear the "in 150m, turn left"...

 

Yes, it does if it's factory built-in one.
