Default Fuel Injector Cleaner: any recommendations?

Hey guys,

I was going to try a bottle of a Fuel Injector Cleaner.

Any recommendations on the brand/type I should use? (ie. do I need specific type for turbo engines?)

Also - does this stuff really work anyway? or is it just a gimmick?

I feel a little bit of a rough idle. Nothing major...just a little. I just picked up my 2007 A4 2.0T w/ 60K km's on it. I thought maybe the injectors are a little clogged up, and maybe a cleaner would help. Actually some on the forum recommend I give this a try.

Thoughts?

the wonder product SeaFoam is always worth a try. You can only buy it at Napa Auto Parts (well in Vancouver anyways).

-Common issue on the 2.0 a4 is the crankcase ventelation system, it gives out and the engine runs rough, there is a updated version of it.

-Ignition coils if they were not updated and failed could cause rough idle during startup and once the moisture is evaporated it will run fine.

-Another common issue on that vehicle is the fuel pressure pump on the back of the head, the lobe that connects from the fuel pump to your cam lobe, the 2 mating services, the cam lobe wears down the fuel pressure pump plunger, causing lack of fuel pressure and it runs rough as well.

On the 3.2 fsi engines, it was common for back of the intake valves to become clogged with carbon because of the programming of the ecm, too much fuel or vehicle not driven hard enough to burn off the carbon. RS4 was common for that as well, changing spark plugs during a pdi was normal on a rs4.

is your check engine light flahsing?

Dynamite Kid - Could you elaborate on the ventilation problem. Is this the PCV valve? I have heard the BSH Speedshop deletion is a good investment. I threw a check engine light about a week ago but it is not blinking, so I have been told it is not serious.

Rbby99 - I have a 06 and have similar problems. No bouncing idle or anything like that just vibrations that I would like to get rid of. Sounds like we are experiencing the same thing.

Audibot - thx for sharing. Yes, sounds like we are experiencing the same thing. I'm planning on bringing in to my dealer to get their thoughts. I'll make a note of Dynamite Kidd's comments, so it makes it sound like I know what I'm talking about. lol

I'll keep you posted on what they say.

Little bit of vibration is ok due to the fsi. the crankcase ventilation system is right on the valve cover on the intake side. not sure about the deletion kit, you mean the catch can?
