Question On a Canadian B7, does the pass airbag always ON?

On the US model, there is a light that turn OFF when there is a passenger and the airbag in activated. It is made by a weight sensor that look like a blather under the seat.
On Canadian A4 B7, we have a kind of resistance taht look like this

Audi says it's activated by weight, but that is so hard to believe. It might be belt buckle related
So my question is, is anybody crashed their B7 without having a passenger, and did the airbag blow?

Nope it will not go off if there is nobody in the seat, it is weight activated.
