Cai vs short ram
Hey guys
I got a 06 Audi A4 quattro, 6 speed. And i was wondering if i should go wit the CAI or SR....I live in Toronto...so am also scared and confused if winter comes...and if CAI would be fine in the winter...can u guys let me know asap..cause i want to get it this week... I want to be safeee and want the nice aggresive noise..but i hear a lot of downs for CAI's which am puzzled about... |
Re: Cai vs short ram
The problem with a CAI, is that if you run it too low (say near the bumper) for cold air, it increases the chances of hydro locking your engine if you run through some deep puddles. Keep it high up in the engine compartment with a proper heat shield (so you're getting cold air) and you should be fine. Winter should not be an issue.

Re: Cai vs short ram
My first question is simply, Why? The stock Air box is very good, unless you are hitting above 350HP there is no reason to upgrade it, it is a big waste of money and you will not see any potential gains from it until you get into the higher HP range.

Re: Cai vs short ram
Exactly as 1move says. There is no real gain for the money.
Unless you're doing it for the sound. I would just save the money. Or do what we 1.8 guys do. Drop a k&n panel filter in the air box and call it a day. |
Re: Cai vs short ram
If i do get the CAI. Is there any modifications I have to do to install the part...and if you think CAI is a waste...Should I just get a Short Ram Intake instead..
