Buying an 06 Audi A4 S-Line :: Help.

Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase and Audi a4 s-line. It was imported from Florida and it has 95.xxx(km's) ... I would say overall shape of the vehicle is 8/10 (rock chips in the front and a ding on the hood - nothing major) ... Brakes were done not too long ago and it has brand new tires (3 months old)

I bought an Audi A4 before [2002] didn't read up on it and I have had a tranny problem a week later, it would of cost me $3,800 to replace. Read online later that there was major problems with the tranny on A4's 02-05

This S-LINE that I'm looking at had something replaced in September of 09 for about $4,000 ... it had something to do with tranny/clutch *sigh*

What would be fair price for this vehicle that I'm looking at?

I appreciate all the feedback, thanks.

BTW - its 2.0T engine

To me 95,000 kms is too much for an 06... I just bought an 06 A4 2.0T Quattro for $18,500 with 59,000 kms..The car is 9.5/10 just one scratch on the rear bumper and few scratches on 2 of the rims, nothing major....

Hope that helps.....

Depending on the options not much more than about $20k to $23k for an '06 would be my guess... Considering it is S-Line. Add a bit more if you buying from an Audi dealership. That would be my estimate.

Finally bought myself an '07 S-line after looking around for the past year. Was worried I over hyped it waiting so long, but I'm pretty happy. Just needs a bit more power ;)

I see where you are coming from, average km's on a car in Alberta 20km/year

Multiplied by 4 years give or take a few months, and 20k give or take a few K...

I would think for that price add a bit more and you can get an S4 from the states.

Whatever you do inspect it first and do NOT rely too much on Carfax or Carproof It is good to have this report however if the previous owner had an accident and never declared it it would never appear in the report! Do the same with the serial number and contact Audi for history/maintenance check...
Correct me if I am wrong but the S-Line simply adds some cosmetics add ons the real power performance difference starts with the S4 or RS4

I think you are right... I think it's cosmetic and some handling with nicer wheels and suspension too. The extra couple K to have purchased it with the s-line option seems to have been well worth it for the resale. Guess cause they are more rare they fetch a premium.

Indeed...the S line has the same engine it adds however some stock OEM visual goodies (S Line badges, wheels...etc) and it is nice to have

Its worth about 21-23K. 20k a year for mileage puts it at about 90k after 4.5-5 years, depending on the purchase date.
