B7 Brakes
I have a 2006 B7 and i need new brakes. Now from what i hear they are a little expensive at the dealership (1200) and for that kind of money i would rather buy some nice after market rotors and brakes.
I do have a friend thats a mechanic so installing them wont be a problem. My problem is finding a place where i can purchase them. Does anyone know of a good place to go to purchase good after market brakes in Kitchener Waterloo or even Toronto area and does anyone have some good advice as to which kinds i should be looking at?? |
Re: B7 Brakes
Euroline
Lakeshore/ hurontario area, Mississauga You looking for around 300$ for good parts |
Re: B7 Brakes
If you don't need your car for a few days and if you are brave enough, i'd say do it yourself. just make sure you have all the parts and tools required. It's not hard at all!

Hey buddy, I have the same car, got the pads for $ 130 and the rotors for $240 for the front brakes, from the dealer, made in Germany, I don’t think you will need to change the rear brakes. The following is a link for how to do the installation yourself, 20 steps to B7 brakes (DIY) - Audizine Forums get your hand dirty and try it, it’s not a difficult job, plus you will have the satisfaction of the DIY and save some money plus you will use a good quality parts. If you need any help, just ask I just did the same job few days ago, good luck |
Re: B7 Brakes

Re: B7 Brakes
Please, for the love of god....get proper jack stands and put the whole car on them. Don't leave the car on the jack! whatever you do!
Make sure the jack stands are sitting at the correct spots on each corner of the car. (Don't rely on the hand brake or the gears to stop your car from rolling...if you jack one side of the car up. anything can happen. The jackstands are stable. a 2 Ton stand at each corner should be enough. ) Lots of guys in the USA have been crushed when their Chevelles or 442 Cutlass Supremes fell on them. I know a guy who's friend was killed this way. Please make sure you are aware of your safety! The car comes 2nd. Also...before you embark on this, do a little research and get the right tools for the job. I've done this on a B5 so ask me (or anyone knowledgable) if you have questions or need help. P.S. I may have misspelled knowledgable. |
