Hey folks,

So today I noticed (After waxing my car), that if you take your thumb, and push in the middle of your door, there is quite a lot of "Give". It almost seems like the exterior of the door is plastic...

It would make good design sense I guess (door banging etc), I'm curious if any of you have any ideas why they did this? Usually...the exterior of the door is just metal....

Could this also be why "Audi's don't rust"? If the exterior is plastic...you'll never get any bubbling and such....it'll be all hidden inside =)

 

Metal can bend that way. I'm pretty sure it's metal. If you doubt, grab a magnet and see if it sticks.....carefully.

if it was a dura flexi w/e u call it, why is there still a dent in my door? doesnt it pop back? clearly isnt the type. maybe on the newer generation model like your 2009 not on my 2004
