450 km per full gas tank in city

Do you guys get similar mileage on full gas of tank in the city? cost $85 to fill up, and mileage seems kinda low to me, but i might be wrong. Normal driving.

Audi A4 2005, 1.8t quattro

Quattro fuel tank capacity for your year is 66L. How many litres do you need to refill for that mileage?

Automatic, 1.8T, stop/start city driving and heavy car is not a real good combination for optimal fuel consumption. Your figure seems lower than I would expect though.

Check obvious things like air filter cleanliness and tire pressure.

I easily get a calculated 10ish L/100km with my 2.0T but I'm manual and a 50/50 mix of city/highway driving.

My car: 2003 B6 A4Q, 1.8T 5-Spd Man.

Since I don't let my tank run anywhere near the empty mark, I can only tell you I've been getting 8L/100Km to 9.5L/Km on 50/50 city/Hwy mix driving (hand calculated, not on board computer). The lower number is when I drive normal and the upper number reflects winter/harder driving.

Since I'm getting older, I don't feel the need to flog my car as much as I used to so I take it easy most of the time. Also with the price of 91 Octane near $1.50/L I tend not to flog my car.

I also agree with a4audi4fun that our cars are heavier due to Quattro and build quality, and that reduces fuel economy. I took apart my driver's door card yesterday because the speaker is cutting out and the door card is quite heavy compared to the cars I've had in the past.

I run 91 Octane and get about 550km per tank. I have the 3.2 V6 and drive 70/30 city/highway.
Tire pressure is a very significant cause of low mileage.

450 seems low enough that you should start looking into things. I'm usually getting 650 in town though my commute is largely driven at highway speeds. Like others have mentioned. Check out the tire pressures, air filter, fuel quality... Other things to think about are leaky injectors, bad wires, plugs or coils.
