Ok my bad. If u insert the key in the lock and turn clockwise and at the same time unlock the doors with the remote it will turn the swith on but if u do the same but lock the doors with the remote it will override the swith. If u turn it counterclockwise it unlocks the door mechanically.

Is there a recall? I dont believe there are any recalls for my car? Do you have any further information? That would be very helpful!

Thanks for everybody's assistance. I went and picked up some grease / WD40 and fixed it! I used WD40 for the keyhole, after some time it finally let me turn the key! I noticed that when the keyhole is left in the horizontal position the inside trunk release would not work. Once i changed the trunk keyhole to a vertical position the inside trunk release worked!

Also i greased the trunk latch and it appears to be closing properly now!

Very happy

That's a standard feature on the A4 sedans - if you have the slot horizontal, and have the back seats locked, even if someone gets into the interior of the car, the trunk is still in a secured state. i.e. the remote release on the driver's door still won't allow access to the trunk.
