I have a 2006 Audi A4, the bulb for my fog light burnt out and I’m trying to replace it. I have read many places that you can remove the plastic cover to gain access to the fog light by holding down two clips on the back. Can anyone elaborate on this please. I have tried many times with no luck. Thanks in advance for any help

if you don't have s-line i think you gotta remove the bumper to replace the fog lights

on the s-line you can just remove the plastic then unscrew the 3 screws holding the fog light assembly

 

You can take off the plastic cover, the new problem are the three screws. They are installed on the inside of the bumper. You can not get to them without removing the bumper.

I just bypassed all of this and reached in behind the bumper and changed the fog lights. You might really small hands to accomplish this or your hands might get a little cut up.

How do you remove the plastic without breaking it? I have a 2005.5 that has the sport package and is loaded but the s-line did not come out till 2006 I think. Would mine still be like the s-line?

 

Works the same way for B6 & B7 - Foglight panel is held in with clips - run your fingers around the edges and feel for slight movement; you push the inside of the panel to release the clips; suggest starting from the edge away from the centre of the car.

 

The end off my history is that I have to remove all the bumper and then you can replace the bulb very easy.
The way to do it is looking in the web many users with a complete instruction list and photos.
Only the right fog lamp you can try to reach it by the back side....however in the left is impossible because you can find a big oil cooler (or similar) that do not leave to you any space for you hand.

Finally you have to remove all the bumper to do it

 

Have an 06 A-4 S-Line. I want to upgrade the bulbs, so will investigate and get back to you all.

 

Most Audis have the same tips and trics to remove the bumpers.....
Two important things.
After remove the weel looking from the inside to the front you will find 3 screws were you have to use some longer 10 mm tube to do your job.
When it is complete free from any screw then push the bumper a little from the inside just 10 mm.
Now you can pull the sides out and release the plastic guide.
Now your bumper is free!!!! Do not make any strong force .just push it slowly.
