Vibration when disengaging clutch

Hello everyone. I bought my son a 03 a4 quattro a couple months back for his first car. It's been great but last week when he was driving he had to swerve abruptly to avoid a car coming the other direction in his lane and lost control The car did a 360 and ended up backed into a bunch of shrubs and vines. We got it out and brought it home but now whenever the clutch starts disengaging the car vibrates pretty bad and almost wants to die. Once the clutch is fully disengaged there is no noise and it drives great. From what I have read it sounds like the flywheel may be damaged but wanted to get some expert opinions from you guys. With the price of a new clutch and flywheel not sure if repairing it is a valid option at this point. Would there be anything else that could cause this issue? Thanks in advance.
