Vibration
I have a 2002 Audi a4 3.0 Quattro, just bought about a month and a half ago. It has 100k kms on it. I've found that it ha quite a noticable vibration at 100kmh espcecially when cold. It seems like its coming from the front end, but cant know for sure. lately ive been able to feel it at lower speeds as well, 50kmh and above.
I brought it to a dealership this past weekend to have some regular maintenance done (oil, tranny fluid, engine flush) and had a look underneath, (I'm a fairly accomplished backyard mechanic although am new to the audi). All the front-end components looked to be in good shape, and there was only a very slight bend in the front driver side wheel. Not sure if that could be the problem.
Any similar issues? any thoughts? any solutions? all helps,
Thanks

Re: Vibration
Almost certainly the bent rim. Try rotating the tires front to back. If it changes, it's a good indication that it's the rim, or maybe that the tire fitted to the rim was damaged by whatever bent the rim.
Could be that rebalancing the wheel will make the problem go away.

Re: Vibration
I had new tires installed when I bought it and the vibration was there right from the get go, you would think the guys that installed the tires would have balanced them properly, but I guess you never know, I could try going to get them balanced again and see what happens. thanks for the input

Re: Vibration
A good tire place will not screw up the balance and will tell you if they can't balance a wheel due to road damage.
If you have a jack (don't rely on that awful thing in your trunk!) try even just rotating them yourself and see if it changes at all. Or swap out the suspicious wheel with the spare and see what happens (assuming the spare is properly inflated etc.)
