Default VAG-COM expert in this forum?

Hello. I just purchased a 2004 Audi A4 1.8tq...

Here's a list of what I want to do with VAG-COM:
- Have the ECU flashed/chipped (pref. flash) for better performance
- Have the headlight angle changed for the right side low beam because its too low compared to the left side
- Use the remote to open/close all windows instead of the key in driver door...i think its called convenient open or something like that

IS THERE ANYONE ON THIS FORUM WHO IS A VAG-COM EXPERT OR CAN REFER ME TO ONE? Hopefully with reasonable prices

also am open for any other suggestions/mods that the hardcore audi guys on here might be able to advice me on.

Here are some pics of my one month old baby lol

Congrats and clean car!

VAG-COM cannot remap your boost for you. You'll need to purchase a chip.

VAG-COM can be used to assist in aiming xenon headlights with autolevelers. There is a straight forward procedure documented on Ross Tech's site. VAG-COM is needed to enter headlights into learn mode and relearn the "home position" of the headlights after manually adjusting them using the two adjusters built into each headlight assembly.

There was a recent post about reprogramming for using keyfob to windows down / up sunroof close.

https://www.audiforum.ca/audi-a4/150...ur-audi-8.html

If your into long term ownership, you may want to seriously consider purchasing VAG-COM for your own use. You will save money, ba able to adjust your own headlights, reprogram controllers, know CEL status ($50 - $75 for dealer to scan), etc.

ECU can be flashed with a vag-com but it is very limited and you really need to know what you are doing. Basically you can remap your fuel ratios and boost levels however a proper way is just go to someone like VAST/APR/GIAC etc.

The headlight angle can be changed, however it is designed with the dip / step down due to safety and when you turn it increases your visability. Audi engineered it that way I would just leave it.

And read my thread on the last question audi tips and trick K04 posted the link

Have you actually done this with VAG-COM?

Motronic has more to it than adjusting fuel ratio table and requested boost level, some areas of OE flash are readable but not writable using VAG-COM, some areas not readable at all, auto relearn can wipe out some changes, new checksums needed, etc hence aftermarket flash required.

VAG-COM stands for Volkswagen Audi Group - Communication? as far as I know which pretty much means the cable itself the software is different. I guess I should have been clear you can use different software with the same cable to tune your car not the original provided by Ross-Tech. Sorry for the missunderstanding K04

thanks for the reply 1move
i'll keep audi's original spec in regards to the headlight angle as per your recommendation but i still need to get it aligned since one is higher than the other...perhaps lower the left one then?
also i need to program windows open/close with remote
and auto lock at 15 km/h
...could you please recommend a good place to take my car to do this? or do you perform these services? for a price of course lol

thanks 1move
myron

ps - i will hold off on the chip for now
