Default Tires now rubbing. Up from 17" to 19" now

Hi. On my 2005 A4 Cabrio I upsized my rims from 17" OEM Audi rims to 19" aftermarket rims with low profile tires.
They look amazing.... But whenever I drive over any bumps or big dips on the freeway, they rub .... and it kills me!! I know you guys would feel the same.
I had the Audi techy at 'All About Imports' check my car BEFORE I bought the 19's and he said there was more than enough clearance and not to worry.
Why are they rubbing then?
Could my shocks be bad?
Plz advise.
Am in Saugga.

Aside from going up to 19" from 17", are you running wider tires? Is the rim's offset correct?

You may be right.... I dont know if the offset is correct or not.
I think the guys that put the wheels on are new/cowboys.
Waheed, do u know any place around here in Saugga that I should take it to?

19's in stock or sport susepsnion should not rub.

Reasons could be.

-Rims are wider then standard 19" rims
-tire are possibly thicker and not as low profile as you think
-you have spacers or lowered suspension you dont know about

Offset could be different, causing you to have a wider stance that makes you rub on the fenders because the tires won't tuck in under them.

Or the shocks are bad. too much travel when going over bumps. but you should be able to feel that. Is the suspension tight or bouncy?

The tires definately do NOT tuck in under the arch.
The ride is kinda nice... which leads me to think there may be excessive bounce.
WHere oh where should I take it?
By the way, the rubbers are Dunlop 255/35/19.
One guy told em to go down to 245 or even 235.
Thats a lot of money on new rubbers.

Unfortunately, there's no place you can take your car to get it fixed. You will either need new rims with a smaller offset so the rims don't stick out at much. Or you'll need a set of 235 or 245 tires on your existing 19" rims. Either way, your looking at a $1000 + fix.

the reason your rubbing is because your running 255/35/19 tires

Listen take your car to Megawheez (tirecraft) on queensway in missauga and ask for param. Call them if you want 905 279 9292. They are amazing at what they do and I have never had any issues since I've take my car there over the years.

Whoever told you to put those tires on your car know nothing about tire fitment on an Audi because the right size would be 235 35 19. You dont drive a **** box so get be careful whom you take it to to get looked at. GL
