Default Thinking of buying this

2004 A4 1.8T Quattro in red with black leather, winter pack and sunroof, great looking car with 129,000 kms - $16,900 from a used car dealer

Can't get my head around not being able to get service history for it - will do car proof but I really want to know what maintenance has been done or more importantly not done, canadian system is strange to me

Any tips on what to look for or how to find service details appreciated - drives really well btw.

Have been driving an fj cruiser I bought when we got here in Jan and hate it, want to get back to Audi and this seems to meet my needs, nice car for going skiing every weekend next season and good economy yet nippy - I take it I can chip this cheap

Thoughts comments or tips appreciated

Rob

Now in Calgary - will update profile

Get the VIN number and give Audi Canada a call to find out what maintenance has been done it; they will likely only show maintenance done with an Audi dealer but it will give you an idea of what's been done.

also try to bring the price down a bit
I bought the same 04 1.8t quattro with all the packages you have PLUS sports package for 19,000

BUT that was more than year ago and when i bought it, it had 51,000 km on it

i bought my 2003 A4 1.8T quattro with premium, winter, and sport pack for $13,000 with 123,000km about 4 months ago.

Almost $17,000 seems really really high! Even though my car is 1 year older, it still has more packages and lower KM's.

And when i bought my car from a used car dealer they just found out from the owners manual/vin and such where the car was bought from, which was Queensway Audi. They called Queensway up and got the service records from them. Really helpful too because i got the latest records that showed it had $2,000 worth of work done which at that amount of KM, has to be done on all A4's. Which was timing belt, water pump, etc.

definitely find a way to get them!

Thanks all, after reading much more I decided to buy a certified 2005 with 73k kms from a dealer - stunning and prefect car in black, ultra sport, bose sound and premium with a two year Audi warranty.............. lets not talk about price but what price piece of mind ???

Looking forward to getting it on Monday and being back in an audi - maybe a bit slower than my S8 was though
