Tensioner Belt Pulley...HELP...Sonic/1Move...need your expertise
 

Hey guys,

So as sonic suggested, I researched on the tensioner belt pulley and attempted to do it myself but soon realized...i suck :P lol

Anyways, I found a pretty good private shop (level auto) its in toronto (danforth rd & kennedy) and they suggested change the belt AND the pulley but the pulley shaking; which I posted in my earlier thread is apparently normal :S...if you guys need to see the video again, just type audi squeeky noise in youtube...there are 2 videos there.

So moving on the the price. I've been quoted 270.00 for chaging both the pulley which is about 125+tax and the belt which is about 60+tax plus labour totalling 270. Is this a good price fellas? I just want to know I'm getting a reasonable deal. Thanks again fellas.

ECS Tuning has one for $245.58 US + Free Shipping and it includes all the things you need. That price to me is a little high if they are only including the belt and pulley. Check out ECS Tuning website this is in their kit

ya i would look at ecs or you can even get someone like H2sport or IT to order you the kit. Like 1move said, price seems a little high.

As for the shaking, they do shake but not as much as yours was. I went and compared it to mine, yours was definitly loose.

I just looked through my emails as well, H2sport got me the timing belt, TB tensioner, TB roller, metal-impellered water pump, serpentine belt, and coolant for $310 and then the serpintin belt tensioner for $85.


Im generaly around the toronto area, i was at the meet on sun as well. Let me know if you need any help man.

If your doing a full Timing Belt Kit, I would strongly suggest replacing the Timing Belt Hydraulic Dampener as well. The last one we touched literally fell apart and had lost it's tensioning ability some time ago.

I think he is talking about the drive belt and drive belt auto tensioner
