Symphony II AUX input, NON-IPOD

Re: Symphony II AUX input, NON-IPOD
Most ipod integration units have nothing to do with AUX. There is no aux plug in on the bag of the headunit symphony II.
The way it works is it tricks the headunit into thinking its a external CD changer. It then functions through the CD player button.

Re: Symphony II AUX input, NON-IPOD
Okay, suppose that I have a GROM gadget installed. I also have 6 CDs loaded in the built-in charger. How do I play MP3s?
Bacause FM = FM radio, and CD = CD tracks of discs present in the charger...
I really try to understand but I am confused !

Re: Symphony II AUX input, NON-IPOD
the unit tricks the headunit into thinking that you have an EXTRA external cd changer in your car. Thats why you put it on cd mode because it thinks the ipod is the external cd changer.
you lose the cd functionality but its worth it because the ipod or mp3 player is so much better.

Re: Symphony II AUX input, NON-IPOD
this is from denison..
When connected into the car, Gateway Lite emulates a CD changer (usually, sometimes it’s an auxiliary input), and the radio accepts the music signal sent into it by the iPod or USB and plays it back through the audio system speakers. You can control your iPod from the clickwheel in the normal way, and once you’ve selected the music you want, you can skip a track you don’t like by using the FFWD butto on your radio or steering wheel. Of course, every Gateway Lite comes with a comprehensive user manual, but if you need to get started quickly, select the CD changer function, plug your iPod into the dock cable or cradle and you will have music. To download a user manual for your vehicle, click here.

Re: Symphony II AUX input, NON-IPOD
Okay I ordered a clone of BlitzSafe/Dension/Grom units. Should be the same.
I'll let you know the results when it will be installed
BTW, it will be for a NON-IPOD, so I don't need charging and steering controls...
What I bought : eBay auction.
56$ CAD shipped.

ricke666 - How did your install with the connects2 go? I have a similar connects2 device so that I can get sound to the rear speakers with my bluetooth, but I cannot make it work.

Re: Symphony II AUX input, NON-IPOD
Yeah indeed I've had a problem. The radio refused to switch to "CDC01". I solved it this way :
First, disconnect ALL the radio connectors. Then, plug the connect2. After, plug back the radio connectors and power it. At first, I installed the connect2 but with the radio still plugged, and the radio did not discover the device. With those steps in that order, it worked very well.
Good luck!
