Default Shifting problem

I've owned my a4 for almost 2 years & still on most occasions I'mhaving trouble with shifting from 1st 2 2nd..I usually just start from 2nd gear...is this a common problem with the 6speed 3.0?? Damn my mark 3 golf was much smoother!!!!!! I also notice a little jerk when downshifting..I hope this is just normal with this car & not be aproblem in the future.( I hope it's not the tranny going)!!!

My audi assured warrenty is up in mid october. Should I have my mechanic check out the car before I bring it to the dealer?? any other suggerstions ??

How many k's are on your car. I have an 04 version of your car. My tranny is very smooth. I think you should get your tranny looked at. Maybe it's time for some new tranny oil? Have you ever changed the tranny oil?

Yeah starting from second is not going to help your case especially in a quattro!

I have 84k on the car it's an 03...I thought tranny oil for manual is pretty much good for lifetime of car?

It's mostly when I want to accelerate quicker...I can make it smooth when I accelerare like a grandmother...LOL

Yeah usually its better to shift 3-4 rpm to second it will be alot better if you want to fast or, if your going slow shift at 2rpm going to second. My advice from experience driving standard for about 5 months

HHmm, I have the same amout of K's on my car and my shifting is fine. Do you only have this problem when the car is cold? Does it go away once the car is warmed up?
