hey guys,

so last thursday, went to pick up my family from grocery shopping. i was parked on the side, with the engine still running. then all of a sudden you see a whole bunch of smoke coming out from my exhausts. it smells like crap, at that moment i knew it was my turbo. took it to the shop and had it replaced to an oem turbo, i believe its the same one as my previous ko3? anyways, the car runs a LOT better now, but i was wondering what else i needed to do with it? do i have to reprogram something? i'm sorry for the noob question but i couldn't find anything using the search function.

why would you need to reprogram?
were you chipped before? or anything changed? stock car? mileage?

no, i'm running stock ever since i bought the car, the fact that i replaced the turbo i thought "maybe" i need to reprogram something in order to keep it up running perfectly? i'm sorry i really don't know about cars. so from the sounds of it, i'm good as how it is now.

No need to do anything for direct-replacement turbo swap. It's a little late now, but you should always prime a turbo before turning over the engine: fill the lines with oil, and crank the car with the fuel-injector harness unplugged to build up some oil pressure without the engine actually firing.
