Rattle?

Re: Rattle?
What would the problem be with the rings? I was thinking maybe a clamp that hold the brake pad; the noise goes away with the application of the break...could this make sense?

i don't understand, but same thing happened to my bud, and thats just a problem that audi have when getting rims
you just need to get a small ring before your rims, its not that bad, try looking on kijiji, usually on there for cheap

Re: Rattle?
I have to disagree with the hub ring theory. I had hub rings on my audi for 2 years (for my winter rims). If you have the ring installed its on the wheel hub, the wheel is then slid on and bolted. But either way, hub ring or not, there's no way the wheel is loose enough to cause any noise.
I think you have a brake caliper issue.

Re: Rattle?
the tires came with used rings, but here is the thing....along with a rattle that comes from the front end and goes away when i apply the brakes, i also experience a thump in the tires during acceleration (like it is skipping)....could the rings be worn and causing both problems?

Re: Rattle?
From what I know. Hubcentric Ring only really exist to make sure the wheel is properly centered before the lug nuts are tightened. Are these the only rims you have? Do you have any Audi rims. If so, put them on and see if the problem goes away.
