Default Putting in an new shift **** in B6

Hi all,

I have a '02 B6 5M. I want to replace the OE shift **** beacuse it has a sharp knick in the topcap, and its really bothering me.

I wanted to get the basic aluminum MOMO "race" replacement ****, but after taking apart the shifter assembly, taking the ring clamp off and inspecting the shift ****, it looks like the shift boot and shift **** are together as one unit.

Is there any way of using the OE shift boot and a new ****? I've seen some "complete" assemblies (new boot and **** attached), but I dont want to spend the $200 for just shift **** replacement.

any suggestions?

cheers,

Brian

Unfortunately, I do have the TT's high-tech looking CV-boot style shift boot haha...The leather one on the B6 is "tucked" into the shift **** so i cant just unscrew the sphere part.

I'll give concept1 a ring when i have a chance sometime...

thanks again.
