p0411 (help!)

Re: p0411 (help!)
look for a vacuum leak. There is a black plastic hose that goes into the back of the cylinder head, this is the secondary air pump line. Check that it is secure and free of cracks. Next check the vacuum lines that control the secondary air pump. They tend to crack at the "T" connectors as well. Happy hunting!

Re: p0411 (help!)
this hose is very prone to failure, as is the crankcase vent valve. To check the PCV, pinch the hose that goes from the PCV (which is under the intake manifold between #3& #4 cyl) to the intake maifold as shown in photo.
I just replaced most of the rubber and plastic hoses (as well as the PCV Valve) in the PCV system. Total for parts (retail) was about $160 CDN.
EURASIA Automotive in Edmonton quoted me 5 hours to replace the pcv valve and the hose. I did it in my garage in 1-1/4 hours. Needless to say, make sure the engine is well cooled off before you begin! Hope this solves the problems
