OIL recomendations for V6 3.0L - Help clear my confusion
So i just called the place where i got my A4 to ask what oil they been using on it
They said they use Total 5w40 synthetic oil
My car has 127000 km on it and seems to be running just fine but i want to replace the oil anyways... never know!
the manual states 0w30 was put into the vehicle so should i pit that back in?
My searches via the net have left me confused... some say that 5w30 can be used but non sytherntic and then you would change it every 5k. other say 0w40 sythentic and do it every 10K
If anyone can give clear up the topic that would help a great deal
O ya, id anyone knows of a reputable place to get an oil change near winston churchhill and the qew please let me know
Thx in advance

No problem.
I pickup royal purple from the states, i don't know where they sell it in canada. Mobile 1 is from canadian tire and such. In the states they have royal purple on reg for 11.00 US, but i get it on sale for 6.00 at o'rylies, or auto zone.
You could maybe order some off the internet.
My recommendations is get mobile 1, and look for royal purple on sale, because 11-14$ is a hefty price to pay for 1 quart.

Do yourself a favour and use the search button to find previous threads on oil issues. I could go on here but whatever oil you use make sure that it has the VW502 (or similar) rating listed on the label.
I used Royal Purple once and found that I was using more oil than usual. I don't believe Royal Purple has the VW rating.
The best oil I have used was LUBROMOLY which is expensive and hard to come by. I now use Castrol Synthetic 5W-40 which is what the dealerships use. I buy it when it comes on sale at CT and do the oil change myself.
If you are looking for a good mechanic shop with plenty of AUDI experience check out Lorne Park Car Centre 2133 Royal Windsor Drive Unit 46 (905) 823-8787. They just replaced the steering rack on my S4 and did a great and reasonable job. The owner was a mechanic at an Audi dealership and the other mechanic worked for H2Mortorsport in Georgetown.
Good luck

Liquimoly and Motul are also great options! Motul makes some seriously high-end oils that are Group V (Ester-based only).

I also have the 3.0L in my Audi now and use Amsoil 5W-40 (European Car Formula) and is VW502.00, 505.00 and 505.01 recommended. I use to get it from a fella from work who carries it but you can buy it a PartSource stores (I think 9.99 per quart).
I do buy the Amsoil oil filter as well. 10,000km and oil barely looks used but i drive 95% hiway so....
From all the above posts, looks like you have plently of options!
