Hi there,

Just bought a 2004 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro last week. It was previously a Quebec car and hence all the manuals are in French. Can you guys help me out with what these buttons do and how to use it.

When should I use the ESP button?
What is AS?
What is RDS?
How do I get into the radio menu? I press menu but it doesn't have any options in there.
How do I use the dual climate controls? Can one side be auto and the other one off? What is the point of 2 auto buttons when pressing one activates both?
What is ECON?
How do I turn the AC off and on?
What is the up arrow, rectangle box and down arrow next to the passenger temp controls?
Does the CD player play MP3?

Image 2:
What does the minus, plus, mode button do? When I press mode it seems to only what to change the time.
How do I change the time from military to am/pm format?
I believe the check button just runs though all the start up checks?
What is the wrench button for?
When I press the 0,0 button, it erases my trip log. Is that all it does? What is there 2 zeros?
What does R for the gas gauge stand for? Refill?

Turning on the lights, the first is auto.
What is the second one for? The fogs run as daytime lights so it doesn't do anything.
When I'm in the second or third options, I can pull the know back and the left lights start to light up. What are those lights on the left side for pointing down and straight?

Miscellaneous questions:
So German cars don't see to have a trunk release button and is connected to the power door locks. If my doors are locked and I just someone outside to open the trunk, how do I do that?
How do I just spray my windshield with fluid without spraying my front lights too?
I don't have any license plate holder or holes in the front bumper because it was from Quebec, how do I put my new plates on?
I have 95,000km on the car, when should I do the timing belt? How much does it cost at the dealership and any recommendations on shops?
My driver information center is in French, how do I get it into English?

Can anyone lend me their manual to read in the GTA?

I almost started answering all these and then I saw that 1move pretty much covered it. I think R on the gas gauge is for "reserve" so even when you're down to zero km left you still have a little in the tank to make it to a gas station.

What is the second one for? The fogs run as daytime lights so it doesn't do anything. to run the lights in non-auto mode... i.e you have to turn them off when u turn the car off..
When I'm in the second or third options, I can pull the know back and the left lights start to light up. What are those lights on the left side for pointing down and straight? the lights on the left indicate which lights you are turning on.... the up arrow one is for your front fogs, and the down arrow one is for your rear fog lights... (i.e they shine brighter)

About the driver display in front of me, I can understand most of the displays like eta until empty, litres per 100km, etc but there seems to be duplicates as I toggle between them. I'm guessing these are lifetime averages for the car, is that correct? I can understand the average kilomeage but there's one that constantly displays 47km/h. I'm guessing that is the average speed this car goes?

Anyone know what the rectangle box button is on the passenger side temp control horizontal to ECON?

And what is the point of 2 auto temp buttons when one turns on the other and can't turn one off?

I can't seem to shift properly in this car in first gear, I can get it smooth but not automatic trans smooth. The I gas a bit and start releasing the clutch around when I hit about 2k rpm the rpm dips down a 2-300 rpm then climbs up again. I can't get it to go from 0 to xxxx rpm without any dips like an automatic car before shifting to next gear. So the car feels like it has all its power right after the rpm starts climbing again after the drop. What am I doing wrong?

I'm at 95,xxx km now and reading through threads need a timing belt change soon. Will I last until 115km like the bentley says? Any recommendations on good prices in GTA?
