Default Need help with GTA repair

i I have a 2003 1.8T A4. Yesterday afternoon I was pulling off the highway and as I was decelerating to pull up to a light, the engine stopped. I was able to restart it and start driving but the car was shaking and died shortly after. Each time I tried restarting the engine, it would start for a few seconds and then turn off. The auto club tried booting it but that turned out to be not the problem. I originaly thought it was a coil pack, but the attached quote seems to indicate it's a host of other issues.

I love the car but I just took over the payments for my father and I'd hate to have to sell it because of these issues.

I have attached a quote for service. If you could let me know if the price is acceptable or not for the work being performed, I would very much appreciate it! I am in the GTA.

Thanks!

that looks like an audi dealer invoice, correct?

try an independent audi/vw shop and see what price you get there.

Don't use the dealer. Where in the city are you located. There are lots of specialty service shops.

You can give a call to Tim Shuvaev at 416-533-0909, if my memory's good his shop is located at 2131 dundas street west.
He did my timing belt job back in june for $650 which was the best price I could fetch around the GTA. The guy's pretty decent and professional I always take my car to him for oil change/ sensor change etc... Give him a ring and see what he quotes you.

I've decided to go with Rocket Auto (Dragan's shop). I'll let you guys know my findings.

Just wondering, would a timing belt replacement be helpful to do at the same time for this type of repair? The car has about 106k km on it.

Thanks again!

chrisuoft// i would probably do it if i had 106k on the clock... i think it's recommended to do around 115k but hey, only 9k left and you might as well as just get the big maintenance done and over with.

Definitely change out the t-belt/tensioner/water-pump/t-stat now.

The car is pretty easy to work on and you'd save yourself a ton by doing the repairs yourself. Obviously that's a problem if you don't have a decent shop to do the repairs in though.

I'm in Oshawa and I'm here if you need any VAG-Com stuff done.

Estimate seems very high. Check against Schnell's VW. They're located in Peterborough.

Hello ! I am a happy owner of 2004 Allroad Tip but recently had check engine light on my dash. It rurned out to be Torque converter clutch, but car drives normally no slipping in transmission is observed. The question is how much it would cost to change the TС and where i could do it in the GTA ?
Any advice is greatly appreciated
