Re: Need help! 1.8 t timing belt sticker????
It is a sticker put by the dealer (DLR #1426) stating that the recall campaign 28F2 was done on your car.
I believe recall 28F2 was for the coil packs. It affected many many Audi. |

Re: Need help! 1.8 t timing belt sticker????
Hi, it says: "Caution! for all Testing and adjustments.
Engine code. AMB * 119122 * note!" AMB is the type of engine you have. I'm afraid this is only the serial number of your engine. I don't think there's a sticker stating when the belt was changed. I cannot recall having seen any on my A4 (cannot check, I'm not an Audi owner anymore). For mine after I bought it, I also wanted to check whether the belt had been changed as the seller stated. I asked a garagist that's specialzed in german car: he knew about an opening through where he was able to see the belt without removing lots of stuff, to visually check if it looked old or almost brand new. |

Oh ok, well I took the front timing cover off and looked at the belt and it looks like its new. all the writing was clean and bright, the belt ribs were long and wide, there weren't any cracks or stretching signs so im pretty confident that it was done. im at 138000k pretty much now and theres no leaks, it quiet, and fast with no hesitation at all. even took a picture of it but my pictures suck.

Re: Need help! 1.8 t timing belt sticker????
looks like a pretty new belt, I make a habit of popping the timing belt cover every second oil change to check cam seals and the like and to make sure the belt isnt damaged
