Now that you've got the gauge, its time to get the car chipped ... Trust me, you'll then wonder why it doesn't come from the factoiry that way AND why you waited so long to do it.

Injectors and chip, then when your turbo breaks get a new one

Well, IMO, there are a few mods that should be the priorities ... what have you done to the car so far ? I did a ton to My B6 A4 1.8 so do have a fair amount of experience with many mods. I would suggest you consider mods in the following order:

1) Suspension/ wheels & tires - if you've got non-sport suspension then an upgrade will make a huge difference. Even if you have OEM Sport suspension, consider H-sport sways, they will improve handling immensely at a reasonable cost. Aside from looks, a larger wheel with better summer tire with a wider contact patch (ie: going from a 16" to 17" or larger) provides major benefits to the enjoyment. I recently went to a forged lightweight wheel and the reduction in weight has improved the performance !(handling, acceleration and ride).
2) Short shifter - I purchased one (along with a snub mount) and installed them within 48 hours of taking delivery of my car.
3) Chip & Injectors - This will wake up your car and I would strongly recommend upgrading your intercooler (either OEM DSMIC or FMIC). The better cooling will lower CF's and exhaust temps which both provides more power (actually reduces the loss of power) and reduces the strain on your engine.
4) "Breathing" - Although an exhaust provides little improvement performance wise, its really nice to hear something there. I had a MIlltek and loved the lower melodious tone with no drone. I also installed a turbo intake pipe and noticed an improvement in power both on the lower and and upper ends (started pulling a few hundred RPM's sooner and continued a few hundred later before running out of steam).

Enjoy your modding and careful there's no cure for this bug !

BTW, a K04 isn't really much larger but a very nice upgrade. I drove a K04'd car and mine (GTRS) back to back and have to say the K04 was very strong especially down low. That said, my car was considerably stronger and pulled to redline BUT you needed to adjust your driving style as the real power didn't kick in until approx 4,000 RPM.

Cheers !

Steve

Thanks Steve, i apprecate the info. Right now i have the short shifter ordered as well as eibach springs(had them on all of my previous cars and loved them)
By the end of the month it will definitly have the chip and injectors changed as well as the DV....im still debating on the DV or the stealth FX BOV/DV but everyone tells me that if i am going to be doing everything that i am doing to the car, including the FMIC, that i will more then likely hear that "sound"....

It definitly is a bug though! hell my car gets more attention then the wife does. hahaha

Yeah I have to agree with Steve I assumed you had the sport version of the car, as I do and dont think others exist LOL. I would also look into an RS4 Sway Bar right in there with the suspension kit

I htink i was reading somewhere that if the springs are red they are the sport then? Its a 2004 6speed if that helps at all.
