Long lasting tires for A4 Quattro?
Hi guys,
Bear with me, as I am a naive enthusiast. I don't know nearly as much details as you all do but I do know I love my A4...she's beautiful. ANYHOW, I bought new tires last year...Michelin Pilot A/S Sport and my lame brother just popped 2 of them.
The tire dealers keep telling me that I can get another brand with just as good speed rating and quality but at a lower price. I know they don't carry Michelin's and have to special order them, so it makes me warry. Now, I'm not completely clueless, I know that as long as each set is the same on each side, I'm fine.
However, is it better to just stick to the same tires I have? Eventually, I'll upgrade to the best set I can (if I don't upgrade to a S4 first). What do you guys think?

I agree with B_RS4, find a dealer that have the Pilots in stock and keep the match set. We had Pilots on our A6 and when it came time to replace them in the spring i went with the same tires, they are nice and quite. If you go with 2 other tires they might have not be as quite as the michelins.

you will definetly have to stick with the same michelins or buy a new set of four because you run a quattro which is basically awd which means you will not have full benefits of the all wheel drive system and different tread patterns will cause a funny drive
