Default Lip Spoiler

Hey Guys,

I'm thinking about purchasing a lip spoiler off eBay for my 04 1.8T.
Does anybody here own a lip spoiler?
I've been told that it attaches to the car using 3M adhesive, double-sided tape. How effective is this? Will it stay on? How about through a car wash?
Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

I can't imagine that double sided tape would last very long. One little rub and I'm sure the lip spoiler will come right off.

Can anybody else give me some feedback on this?
I can't imagine that those lip spoilers are bolded on...and I see a lot of them on the road so I would assume that they are quite durable??

3M double sided tape (red) works great! Last a long time! Got mine at Home Depot. Many aftermarket body parts are put on with this stuff and holds forever....

GUys, most OEM spoilers are put on with the same tape. Make sure it is the tape meant for this type of application. Make sure that you get it in correctly because you won't be able to move it after you stick it on. This stuff is like cement!

I would be more worried about any spoiler that you need to drill a hole in your trunk lid. That is a real concern because you drill through all of the protective coatings on the steel and open up a piece of bare metal that will rust.

I think hes talking about the front lip that goes on the bottom of the bumper. I do agree with you that truck spoilers go on with tape....OEM USP/S4 though is held on with 3 bolts and tape though.
