Sup Rowdy Audi drivers

I just bought an 02 a4 3.0 from a reliable dealership here in Chattanooga Tennessee (not an audi dealership but they specialize in saabs/cadilacs/hummers and Subarus) I have read a lot about these cars and they sound great if taken care and serviced correctly. Though expensive to fix, I have a friend that knows a lot about audis and is a mechanic at the Audi dealership here in Chattanooga. He will receive parts at cost if something goes wrong with my silver child. Having just bought the car I have 30 days to make a final decision whether or not to keep the lil bullet. It was kept in good condition but only one or two Audi service stamps were in the book. It has 80,000 miles on it. Please comment on any known problems and tell me if this car for 13,000 dollars sounds like a good deal considering I have a trustworthy mechanic. It will be much appreciated. Thanks (sorry so long)

Timing belt (for sure), water pump (maybe) should be replaced - get your trustworthy mechanic to do a thorough inspection, he should be able to make a safe judgement on it

The price sounds just about right. So you are good there. Defenetly check the timing belt. If it was serviced at the dealer. Get a detailed CarFax on it. The water pump will need to be replaced soon, same with timing belt if not replaced replace immedietly or get the price droped to 12g's as it costs about 1G at the dealer to replace. Spark plugs will need to be replaced soon, as well as check shocks and springs as well as the CV joints and boots, and the control arms. Change the oil anyway!
