The only accurate way to easily record fuel economy is by keeping a running log of your KMs driven vs. your litres of fuel purchased. If you have a smartphone, it's all that much easier by using an app to do it. I use Gas Cubby - it's got a lot of nice features.

Agreed 100%... but I can still compare what the trip calculator says to the odometer reading. Again, this is not 100% accurate, I know, but very close.

Manual is diffrent then automatic with gas efficient.

Yeah, my 98' A4 2.8L gets me about 500kms city driving and 600-700kms highway...

I think the 200kms was an bit of a stretch... lol

Wow I think my 1.8 can go at least 500km with a full tank until the light goes on. And I thought THAT was ridiculous!

it was the fuel filter, i changed it, its getting almost 500 a tank in city, im driving manual...

You were actually getting 200kms on a tank of fuel?

Im not sure how a fuel filter would even cause that... your engine would still need to burn the fuel in the tank...

The company I work for has 4 large cube vans that are much heavier than my audi - they get 20 l/100kms - not a car with a 3.0L V6 engine.

that is crazy...

i dont know what it was really, i ran seafoam, filter and new plugs, so im geussing its one of those.
